Embark on a guided kayak tour of the Río Sábalo and Río Coto, with local guides Andy and Anita. This is a 3 hour adventure for up to 8 people, which will take you from Arena Alta Wildlife Village to the mouth of the Golfo Dulce. You'll have the chance to see and experience a pristine jungle and river environment, with monkeys, crocodiles, a variety of birds, and more.

Horseback riding

Explore the jungle trails of the reserve and enjoy a stunning sunset cruise on the beach. The cruise concludes at Sol y Mar Restaurant, where you can savor traditional Costa Rican cuisine.

Arena Alta is located among some of the best sportfishing in the world. Surfcast the beach for grande roosterfish, Spanish mackerel, jack crevalle, and the occasional cubera snapper or snook. Hop on a local panga boat, or head offshore on a center console for marlin, yellowfin tuna, sailfish and more.

You never know what you may see while walking through Arena Alta Wildlife Village. In fact, Scarlet Macaws and more than 350 different species of birds inhabit the nearby Osa Peninsula.

There is no shortage of surfing opportunities along the beaches surrounding Arena Alta Wildlife Village. The famous surfing town of Pavones, home to one of the world's longest left-breaking waves, is about an hour's drive to the south. The beach immediately in front of Arena Alta Wildlife Village can also provide good surfing conditions.

Every home in Zancudo has private septic. We have very sandy soil that is great for properly designed systems. Plastic holding tanks, traps and leach fields work great.
